here's where wonderful surprises like site events and the much-beloved activity checks go, as they are needed. there's also a possibility that we might add some fancy-schmancy features as time goes on, so keep an eye out. we'll be sure to fill you in here.

here's where you claim those all-too-important necessities. for example, your celebrity face claim! make sure the one you want isn't taken. it'd be kinda tragic if you registered only to find that very special someone is taken. to make sure they aren't snatched up from under you, it'd be a good idea to make your reservation there. but it's not just play-bys we're concerned with here; we've got screennames, e-mails...the whole shebang.

want to establish some relationships with your character? here's where you can do that and get everything worked out before, say, you post in a relationship thread. you may also request characters needed for a plot you may have in mind. once you have all the kinks of your plot worked out, you may want to write it all up so you don't forget any of the juicy details and post it in our sub-plots forum contained within.

when the necessities of life come to mind, what often tops the list (food, water, and shelter nonwithstanding) is that shiny little cell phone in your pocket. it's truly a wonder what they're capable of nowadays; some cells are being used less for talking than anything else. you can send pictures, texts, sometimes even find a lunch special if your phone's fancy enough. post up your cell phone page here, otherwse you may find yourself having to actually make contact with friends face-to-face! the horror!

here's the mail that never fails, it makes me wanna wag my tail, when it comes i wanna wail, "MAAAAIL!" okay, i'm done now. anyway, if you happened to claim your e-mail (which you totally should) the e-mail account automatically gets its own sub-board here. when you can't reach someone by text or instant messaging, want to make a mature, professional impression, or plan on typing out more than one sentence, it's probably best that you use your e-mail to send it.

that's right: the practically obligatory gossip blog. montréal's very own miss leading will be keeping everyone updated on the 411 of the city's most scandalous citizens. there's not a secret that she won't tell – other than, of course, her own identity.

so you're a young, hotshot whatever-you-are on your own (or maybe with a roommate or two - and who can blame you in this economy, really?) in the big city. well, if your income doesn't make affording too much space for your own good possible or perhaps you just want to live waist-deep in urban action, apartments sound about right for you. there's a wide range to choose from to suit your tastes as well as your budget.

remember how you could somehow manage to fit all of the crap that accumulated over the years into your bedroom? well, not gonna happen anymore. short story? it's as cramped as the legends say so, made even more so by the stranger you're sharing it with. but, hey, in college - as with america - freedom does not come without sacrifice. in your case, all you have to give up is personal space.

so maybe you've saved and can now afford your own little slice of the american dream. or maybe you and a bunch of roommates have pooled resources and decided to rent somewhere nice and quiet. or maybe your family's larger than two. no matter what the situation, though, here's where you can find your own little place to click your heels home to. some are actually within the city – but away from downtown – while others choose to escape the hustle and bustle and settle in the suburbs.

No New Posts classrooms ,

with all that learning going on, students may not take the time to actually notice their surroundings. mcgill university has some of the prettiest classrooms – lecture halls, discussion rooms, and labs – that any school has to offer. the most attentive of students will find that the optimal places to sleep during classes tend to be in the back of the room where no one will notice.

No New Posts bookstore ,

since most classes have required textbooks, the campus bookstore is a place that all students have to visit to at one point during their time at mcgill university. this bookstore is a nice one, though – it has couches, a seating area, computers, and even a built-in coffee shop, as well as book stacks filled with textbooks of course.

often times, the student union is the social hub for students. the place has a lounge-type feel, with comfy armchairs and couches positioned in various places around the room, as well as a widescreen hd televison, arcade games, and a coffee cart. whether you intend to study or just chat with friends and hang out, the student union is one of the best places to be.

No New Posts quad ,

with majestic trees, quaint pathways, and stretches of grassy turfs, the mcgill university quad is definitely a sight to see. during the spring and summer months it tends to be one of the most popular places for students to retreat to in-between their classes, whether to study or just hang out under the sun. there's also a coffee cart and a sitting area for those who want to sit and relax with a cup of coffee.

No New Posts library ,

hey, it’s where the books live! the mcgill university library is pretty huge, considering the massive amount of books that the place houses. amongst the book stacks is a great area for students to study – in fact, the library is one of the best places to study on campus because of the silence and the abundance of research materials.

No New Posts campus café ,

what would college life be without coffee? more tiring, probably. luckily for the students at mcgill university, the school has it’s very own on-campus café! it’s complete with comfy seating arrangements, nightly performances by local bands, occasional art exhibits by local artists, and, of course, the strong smell of coffee in the air. the café also serves sandwiches and an assortment of tasty pastries.

No New Posts rue sainte-catherine ,

this street is pretty much the main one in downtown montréal – it’s where most of the businesses are located, including many of the major department stores in the city. if you’re looking for a good place to hang out, shop, or grab a bite to eat, this street is pretty much one of the best choices.

No New Posts hôtel le st-james ,

a five-star hotel located in the historic old montréal, the hôtel le st-james is definitely one of the best places a tourist could reside during their stay in the city. being housed in a beautifully-constructed building that contains some of the most elegant furniture that’s situated in a quite aesthetically-pleasing fashion does make for the hotel receiving some of the most upper-class guests, so the price isn’t exactly what a normal person would call afforadable. but, if you have the cash and are vacationing in montréal, this hotel is the perfect place to stay.

designed by the same man who designed the world-famous central park in new york city, the parc du mont-royal is quite the tourist must-see place (as well as a resident must-see place!) located atop the majestic mont-royal – mount royale for all you english-speakers out there – the park is one of the largest greenspaces in all of montréal and it has one of the best views of downtown in the city.

No New Posts hôtel-dieu de montréal ,

despite what its name promises, the hôtel-dieu de montréal is actually a hospital – in fact, it’s the oldest in the whole city. although it is no longer housed in its original building (the building in its original location in old montréal was burnt down, and rebuilt three times), its mount royale location is really a sight to see. having moved in 1861 to its present location, the group of buildings owned by the hospital boasts majestic architecture, and there’s even a museum chronicling its history. the hospital is also an impeccable one, so you can be assured that you’re in good hands should you fall ill by some unfortunate turn of events.

No New Posts l’oratoire saint-joseph du mont-royal ,

this roman catholic basilica – “a roman public building,” in case you were wondering what that meant – perched atop the northern slope of mont-royal first appeared in 1924, but construction wasn’t actually completed until a whopping 43 years later in 1967. this wasn’t even the first building; a small chapel was first constructed in 1904 on the side of mont-royal. the oratory is also one of the national historic sites of canada.

No New Posts stade olympique ,

when you think barren winter landscape, you automatically think canada, right? who wouldn’t? well, apparently, the olympic planning committee did not, because instead of making it a site of the winter olympics, the stade olympique was created for the 1976 summer olympics. just because it’s been over thirty years since that olympic competition was on doesn’t mean it hasn’t seen some action. it’s since become the home of montréal’s baseball and canadian football teams. naturally, it also contains an olympic sized pool and plays host to the tallest inclined tower in the world. however, with its many financial and structural problems, it’s mostly seen as a white elephant by the locals. a more accurate term, however, would be chrome elephant. since it’s all shiny, but also useless.

No New Posts hemery high school ,

though magical scholars are entirely unaware of this, there is an opening to hell in every town in canada. it’s called high school. like every other one, there’s cliques of chicks, cocks and jocks, freaks and geeks. unlike every other one, they have a brand spanking new gym, after the new one burned down, like, a zillion years ago. apparently some freaky american girl torched it down in a fit of wild rage. but the time when that story was a hot-button item has long since passed. it only serves as a quirky anecdote for the new kids trickling in every once and a while.

looking for a class to teach you how to touch your toes and so much more? you've come to the right place. luckily for the owner of the yogalicious's owner, sonja maly, yoga is totally in right now. it relieves stress, helps you stand up straighter (and thus look up to ten pounds lighter, and that's not just a ploy), and also makes you totally awesome in bed flexible. this particular yoga studio is quite popular due to its prime location in downtown and also sonja's soothing instructions in that hypnotic australian accent of hers. just don't try to imitate it, she might choke you with her thighs. and not in the fun way.

No New Posts downtown montréal ,

rue sainte-catherine may be the main street running through downtown montréal, but the rest of the downtown area is quite vast. mcgill university is located here, as well as countless other shops and restaurants. plus, the architecture is quite pretty, so it makes for a mice place to just walk around in.
