• HEIGHT & WEIGHT, five foot eight & one hundred and ten pounds
• PIERCINGS & TATTOOS, sophie's mother was extremely critical of her children's appearance so one piercing in each ear at thirteen was all sophie had been allowed. however when mr. and mrs. pearson died there were barely any rules put forward as to what was and wasn't allowed appearance and fashion wise. however instead of getting another pearson, the blonde got a small tattoo of a heart on her right foot when she was sixteen.
• FASHION SENSE, you will rarely see sophie pearson wearing or carrying anything overly expensive or of a designer brand like gucci or prada. although she has more than enough money to spend on expensive things, she prefers to keep things simple. the girl has more sundresses than you could count and all of her clothes are brightly colored, she keeps the dull colors to a minimum. one thing sophie will spend money on are formal dresses. she loves extravagance in them and enjoys dressing up for formal events. sophie isn't one to dress outrageously, she keeps her style timeless and something she won't regret wearing. modesty has always been key to the blonde, she isn't going to parade her body in hope that a guy will look in her direction. however that doesn't mean she won't wear items of clothing which are far above her knee. she loves cowboy boots, unique socks and making headbands.
• DISTINGUISHING FEATURES, one thing sophie is most distinguishable by is her hair. when she lost all her hair from chemotherapy, she had her heart set on it growing back straight. however it didn't grow back wavy like it had been before nor straight. it grew back in thick, tight ringlets. at first it bothered sophie but now it never bothers her. on the occasion she'll also straighten her hair but rarely ever does so due to how time consuming it is. another thing which is distinguishing about sophie pearson is her structure, height and weight. the blonde has always been rather tall and it was expected because her mother stood at five foot ten and both her father and brother are over six feet tall. sophie's always had a high metabolism. even as a little girl, she was one of those scrawny kids whom you'd imagine would float away if it weren't for the weight of their sneakers. however when she first started treatment for cancer, her weight dropped dramatically and would do so each time she was given treatment. people used to (and still do) believe she had anorexia. the comments used to offend and bother her but as she got older, they mattered less and less.
• PLAYED BY, taylor swift

• PERSONALITY, at first glance, people immediately assume that sophie jayne pearson is a perfect little princess. well when you look at her upbringing it is rather reasonable to assume such a thing. she was born in london, england and lived in a quaint little cottage for the first ten years of her life. her parents were strong catholics, the type who would make their children go to church every single sunday and make them say prayers five times a day. from a very young age, sophie was taught to have morals and respect for herself as well as others around her. she's not the type of person to wear a low cut top in hope that she might catch the attention of a male. sophie respects herself and doesn't do anything to make herself seem tacky. sure that means she doesn't have twenty boyfriends in the course for a year, but having a million boyfriends isn't important to her. call it lame or whatever you want to call it, but she's also a virgin. one reason for this is because she's catholic and her parents raised her believing in abstinence. however that solely doesn't explain why she hasn't gone and lost her virginity yet due to the fact her older brother tristin lost his long before he got married. she isn't going to give something so precious away to a random guy whom she's going to break up with. the blonde believes it belongs to the man she's going to spend the rest of her life with. and she knows what can result in having sex, her brother got his girlfriend back when he was eighteen and that caused a lot of problems.
being all over males isn't something sophie does. she doesn't go places just to find good looking guys and flirt with them. the blonde used to fall hard for guys, it wouldn't take much for her to be completely in love with them. though that resulted in her getting her heartbroken. she pretty much stopped the silly high school dating phase at the end of her junior year in high school and didn't have a boyfriend for the whole of her senior year. of course she received invitations for dates from various boys however the only time she accepted was for senior prom and even then, she went with one of her good male friends. sophie is a hopeless romantic, she believes strongly that there will be at least one guy for her out there, after all, there are billions and billions of people in the world. she adores the romance novels and films and has a strong faith that she'll find someone one day. but in the meantime, she refuses to waste her time dating lowlife jerks. showing her feelings is something that sophie doesn't tend to do. being viewed as "weak" is one thing she despises and she fears the displaying her true thoughts and feelings will result in people believing she's weak. although things might not be going alright for the blonde, she'll put a smile on her face and pretend that it is. although this can sometimes result in everything building up inside and then later coming out in massive bouts of breakdown. even in hospital, she'd push away the pain and put a smile on her face for the people she loved. giving into weakness isn't acceptable to the blonde, she aspires to be a strong person who can hold their own.
if there was anyone more perfect for the job of a motivational speaker, it would be sophie pearson. she's the type of person you would want cheering for you when you're running a really big race or someone to stand by you whilst studying for an extremely important test. just trying a little bit harder will give you what you want. you will never hear a negative word come out of her mouth. she encourages everyone no matter who they are and will always give them positive comments when needed. being positive is something the blonde has had to rely on for a lot of her life. the glass is always half full and never half empty. even though things were looking the worse for her, she'd be the one reassuring everyone that she'd be alright. often people are drawn to here merely because of that fact, she's got some sort of positive glow to her. negativity is something sophie hates and she simply refuses, point blank, to think negatively about any situation. however because of her constant positive thinking, it's natural people may get a little annoyed with that. especially when they just want to mope around and be miserable. she's an extremely determined person and a complete perfectionist. if there's something the girl wants, she's sure as hell going to get it. she'll succeed and keep trying until she can't try any more. impossible isn't even in sophie's vocabulary, she'll keep going and won't ever give up. perfectionist is something you could definitely class her as. everything she does has to be perfect however organization isn't something she's too crazy about. the girl is fairly disorganized and can never keep things clean or in place.
her determination is something she was blessed with because it just means she tries harder to add to that determined nature, sophie is extremely stubborn. if she's got her opinion, there is no hope in changing it. having the last word is almost a habit. if she's ever in a fight with someone, the girl simply can't hold her tongue and will just let it out, often regretting whatever she's said later. sophie doesn't think before she acts, this has become a way of life over the years. when she was sick she'd jump at the chance to do anything and would do everything she could, without thinking of the consequences. she is quite a spontaneous person. one of those people who will make decision on a whim. she isn't one to seriously think about things but will just act on what her thoughts contain that second. this sometimes gets her into quite a lot of trouble as she doesn't think of consequences. if someone asks her if she wants to go on a road trip late one night, she'll get her things together and leave, only to curse her decision the next morning when she and her friends are lost in the middle of no where with no reception. the way she works is that the longer she ponders over something, the most negatives and positives will come out. so therefore, if she isn't given the chance to think about something, there is no problem.
intelligence is something all pearson's are blessed with. all her life, sophie has gotten good grades, mainly because she always had help from her brother tristin and friends with schoolwork. at times she can be lazy, not trying her hardest or raising her hand in class when she knows things. she isn't afraid to give people compliments and gives them all the time. sometimes they're true and other times they're fake, but all the same, they are nice and friendly compliments that make people like her a little more. sophie is just one of those people who are very kind and caring towards others and likes making them feel good about themselves. sophie is rather quiet and reserved. she isn't one to march on up to random people and just start talking to them. it takes her a while to really warm up to someone, but all you have to be sophie's friend is like her. sometimes there are people she simply just clicks with when they first meet. she's easy to be friends with, you can always find something to talk to her about. sophie is also a very good listener. she's that friend who will talk to you when you call at two o'clock in the morning in tears because your dog died. she's always there for her friends and would never let them down no matter what. if things are going bad, she strongly believes that they have to get better. the bad will always bottom out at some point and then get better. sophie is also very polite and has extremely good manners. trust is also something she's blessed with. tell her anything and she won't pass it on. loyalty and trust are things you can rely on sophie for, two of the many reasons why she's such a good friend.
sophie has a fairly even temper and it takes a lot for her to get angry at someone. if she's getting bad vibes from a person, she'll simply stay away. making enemies isn't exactly something the blonde wants. she's a pushover. because she's so sweet and nice, people will take advantage of her when asking for favours or other various things because they know she'll never reject them. because of this, she's gotten screwed over quite a lot from people. unlike her brother, sophie has a second chances policy. she'll give someone a second chance however if they do her wrong again, that will be the end. in a way, sophie runs away from her problems. not fears exactly, but problems she has with people and life. if she feels a bad day coming on, sophie will refuse to have a bad day. she'll refuse anything she doesn't want to do which ends up in her not facing her fears. this eighteen year old is incredibly brave, yet that doesn't mean she's got no fear. her definition of fearless is different to everyone else's. her definition is that you aren't afraid to let yourself have a breakdown and cry your eyes out for days on end. cancer patients are some of the most inspirational around and also the most emotionally strong. the things she had and still has to put up with over the years has made her extremely courageous and most of all, she managed to go through it all with a smile on her face. sophie hates sympathy however she'll freely give it to someone. sympathy for herself, that's something she loathes. it's the reason she keeps her cancer to herself, she knows all the sympathy she'll receive from everyone. just because she's sick doesn't mean they need to feel sorry for her or treat her differently.

• HISTORY, edward pearson and melanie basset, they were two of the most eligible people in london, england during the early eighties. edward was the son of real estate tycoon, christopher pearson, who was based in new york. melanie was an english supermodel, the kate moss of her generation. the pair met at a charity function in the summer of nineteen eighty three in london, england. the pair immediately hit off and were soon recognized as one of the golden couples in london. after two years of dating, the pair decided to get married. it was a beautiful event. the typical million dollar wedding with guests whom you'd only met once or twice. a few months after the wedding, melanie became pregnant with her first child. although she loved modelling dearly, she decided that being a mother was a lot more important. on june fifteenth, nineteen eighty-six, tristin edward pearson was born. both melanie and edward were in awe of their son, already having big aspirations for him to take over the real estate business one day. slowly, melanie had faded away and the couple weren't considered as being important to the tabloids anymore. however that didn't bother the pair, parenthood was far more rewarding. the pearson's lived happily in a large cottage located in the outskirts of london, in the country. then five years later, melanie fell pregnant once again.
sophie jayne pearson was born on june twentieth, nineteen ninety-one, just five days after her brother tristin's fifth birthday. classified as a late birthday present by the child himself, sophie was immediately loved by her family. with those sparkling pearson blue eyes, the baby girl was almost impossible to resist. until about the age of eight, sophie's childhood was rather normal. she spent her days running around with her brother tristin, who had taught her practically everything she knew. how to ride a bike, how to play piano, how to read music; plus the boy had unbelievable patience with his little sister. where was edward pearson all this time you may ask? he was in london, working long hours each and every day in the london based business of the pearson's. however the man tried to spend as much time possible with his wife and children. however that seemingly perfect life all changed just a few weeks after sophie's eighth birthday. then thirteen year old tristin started noticing unusual bruises turning up on the lively eight year olds body. he told his mother about it and the woman immediately took sophie to the doctor. blood tests and swabs were taken yet it didn't take a genius to know what the bruises and pale gums of the tiny blonde meant.
a few days after the doctors visit, melanie pearson received a phone call during dinner and immediately burst into tears. the doctors had confirmed that sophie had leukaemia. of course what this meant was confusing to eight year old sophie but the doctor explained it to the blonde in a way she could understand. however of course it was the sugar coated explanation. what the doctor told sophie's parents and tristin was that he didn't expect the little girl to live for more than two years. and so, over the next two years, sophie pearson spent the majority of her time in a hospital. bouts of chemotherapy made the blonde loose all of her hair which for an eight year old, was pretty much the worst thing in the world. however tristin bought her a wig which resembled the way her hair was before. she wore it quite a lot at the start but then once therapy had sucked all the energy out of her, she didn't bother. so one of the nurses knitted her a little beanie in which she wore obsessively. no matter how bad she was feeling, sophie always managed to keep a smile on her pale face. the doctors were honestly amazed she'd lasted so long and hadn't died yet, they weren't exactly the most positive people around.
just a few months after sophie had reached the age of ten, an age the doctors never thought she'd reach, the hospital notified the pearson's of a new treatment available in america which could increase the chances of sophie getting better. after spending the last two years of her life in hospital, sophie jumped at the chance to get better. her parents hated seeing their daughter as sick as she was so they agreed to go along with the treatment. it takes a lot of love to pack up everything they have and move to a completely different country, but sophie was something the pearson's didn't want to loose. in the december of two thousand and one, the pearson's arrived in new york. it had been organized that edward would help run the real estate business with his father. the family bought a townhouse on the upper east side. melanie became a housewife of sorts and tristin being fifteen at the time, started attending new york academy of the arts (or nyaa) as a freshman. within just a few months of receiving the new treatment, sophie was improving dramatically. her hair even started to finally grow back now she had a break from chemotherapy. however much to her distaste, it grew back much curlier than before. after pondering over it, she figured that she was lucky just to have hair so the blonde adored her locks soon enough.
after just eight months of receiving the treatment, the cancer went into remission and sophie was allowed to go home and stay there. she was able to finally start going to an actual school instead of just being homeschooled. the quiet, reserved blonde managed to make friends rather quickly. there were always rumours going around about why she was so incredibly thin and pale, the eleven year old was hurt easily by these and the comments would often lower her high spirits. school wasn't exactly enjoyable for sophie, she didn't exactly find it fun or a nice environment to be around. although she had her friends, the rumours and comments would make everything worse. for a year and a half, things were going alright for the now twelve year old. she'd learnt to deal with the comments of her peers and ignore them, pretending she had no idea what they were talking about. in the november of two thousand and three, things turned for the worse. the blonde had become quite sick over the past week and when she was taken to her specialist at the hospital the pearson's worst fears were confirmed that the cancer had returned.
almost immediately, sophie was put back into treatment. tristin who was a junior in high school at the time would spend a lot of his time at the hospital, however when he got a rather serious girlfriend, ophelia harmon, sophie persuaded him to spend time with her and not waste all his time at the hospital. the doctors seemed to think things were worse this time around. the twelve year old was unable to keep any food down and was often too weak to even move. she'd sleep all day however whenever she was awake the blonde kept that happy smile on her face and tried to stay positive, despite all the negativity around her. after five months of being in hospital, sophie was finally able to move at least. one evening, no one was with her or even checking up on her, so the blonde decided to go walking around the hospitals. she stopped near the section of the hospital in which families and friends of patients would wait. observing people had become a hobby of sorts, after all, there wasn't much to do in hospital. as the blonde was sitting there in her hospital gown, a knitted beanie from one of the nurses covering her bald head, knee high socks falling down her legs which were too thin to keep to keep the socks up and oxygen tubes in her nose, she caught sight of an anxious and angry looking boy enter the waiting room.
for around fifteen minutes, the twelve year old sat there, staring at him as he paced angrily around the space. suddenly he looked up and their eyes locked. sophie had looked down quickly and feared for the incoming anger as he approached her. much to her surprise, the boy sat down next to her and introduced himself as "ivan joyce". although he was three years older than sophie, the two immediately clicked. it turned out that he was there for his mother whom had "problems" as he'd called it. the two had stayed talking for hours, until a frantic nurse found tiny sophie pearson, immediately scolding her for walking off. the twelve year old had waved goodbye to ivan, a happy little smile on her lips. never did she think that she'd actually see him again but sure enough, the very next day, there was a light knock on her door and there was ivan. for the next two years, he visited sophie almost every day and the pair became best friends. the only thing keeping each other alive. there were many times where sophie had been near dead but she'd tried her hardest to stay alive, just for ivan and her family. at the age of fourteen, sophie was a lot better and going for hospital visits every once in a while. by this time, tristin had graduated from high school and was living in dublin with his girlfriend ophelia.
at the age of fifteen and in the middle of another bout of chemotherapy, one of the nurses came to her room. they told her that her parents were at the hospital. the bald but smiling fifteen year old was shocked and glad that they'd come to visit her. however the nurse then told her that they weren't visiting but had been involved in a car accident. edward pearson had died instantly and melanie was in a critical condition. sophie would have called her brother tristin, but he was in greece after having broken up with his girlfriend ophelia and wanted to get away from it all. she didn't know who else would come to the hospital at two o'clock in the morning but ivan. by the time he got there, after travelling from brooklyn, melanie pearson had passed away also. ivan had stayed with sophie constantly until tristin arrived in from greece. arrangements were made that sophie would move over to greece with tristin and tristin would inherit the family business due to the fact christopher pearson had died a few years earlier, but the nineteen year old wouldn't run it, just sign forms every now and then. sophie's treatment was organized to continue in greece and two weeks after the death of sophie's parents, ivan and sophie said a very tearful goodbye to each other.
upon arriving in greece, tristin bought a beautiful sea-side mansion on the edge of a cliff in santorini, greece. he was still traumatized by the death of his parents, break up with the love of his life and now just another thing to add to the mix was his sick sister. luck seemed to be on sophie's side because seven months after being in greece, her cancer was said to be in remission, however regular check ups had to be made due to the fact the cancer had been in remission and come back again once before. tristin was a sophomore university student and sophie a high school freshman. she kept in contact with ivan over email and texting, however she needed to make friends of her own in greece. almost immediately on her first day of high school, a vibrant brunette named sienna bennett approached sophie. she didn't care about the thin state of the girl and the pair were soon enough best friends. together, the pair were rather rebellious and soon became professionals at outsmarting tristin, who was like a zombie anyway. although they weren't incredibly popular and were each considered as being a little strange (bursting out into song and air guitaring having something to do with that), sophie was happy.
for two years, the blonde was reasonably happy. comments people made about her didn't matter anymore. she'd dated guys only to break up with them a month or so later. of a weekend, the blonde and her best friend would "sleepover" at each other's houses, whilst really going to parties and having the time of their lives in the quiet town. however when sophie was seventeen she was at a party at sienna's place. halfway through someone came running for her saying that something was wrong with her brunette best friend. the ambulance was called however sienna was pronounced dead at the scene from an overdose. after this, the blonde went into a state of depression. her brother had his own brothers. ophelia had come to greece and he'd found out that the reason they'd broke up was pointless due to the fact, the child was actually his and not another man's whom they'd both suspected at the time. not wanting to bother anyone with her problems, the blonde kept everything to herself, never breathing a word of it to anyone. she stayed positive and happy, knowing that people wouldn't focus on her as much if they knew she wasn't going to go jump off a cliff.
sophie's senior year of high school was a rather good one, considering everything which had occurred in the past year. she'd given up on stupid high school relationships and focused on getting good grades in school. after all the help nurses had given her for so many years, sophie wanted to give something back. of an afternoon she'd already spend time voluntarily with patients at the local hospital, knowing what difference it made to have someone there. that year, her brother and ophelia got married and that was something to celebrate. the pearson household was reasonably happy and engaging. sophie adored both ophelia and eddie, appreciating the help her niece gave whilst studying for exams (holding up flashcards and acting like it was the most amazing thing on the planet if sophie got the answer right) and the eighteen year old graduated top of her class. originally, sophie had always planned to attend university in greece, just like tristin had. however she didn't want to intrude in her brother's life. he now had a job and family, being a bother was the last thing sophie wanted. so one night conversing with ivan about her options, he offered for her to come and live with him in canada. there was a university there and he had an extra room for her to stay in. well the blonde accepted even before she'd gotten permission from her brother. after much persuasion (and many tantrums) tristin gave in and sophie enrolled in the unviersity.

• ROLEPLAY SAMPLE,the trio slowly walked into the beautiful house on the water. eager, was a word which would very suitably describe the little curly haired three year old who was pulling her slightly nervous father and sophie, who was smiling happily, hurriedly towards where her mother must have been. sure enough, within moments of stepping into the entry, ophelia gave both he and sophie a welcoming smile. the atmosphere and vibe between them all had changed dramatically from the first time tristin had stepped into this home. it had been forced, polite and you could feel the stressful tension in the room. “thanks so much for taking over for the night, soph,” ophelia said sincerely, leaning over to kiss the blonde on the cheek to which sophie returned with a friendly hug. the bright smile on sophie's face in no way indicated how thrilled and excited she was by a mere babysitting job. “hi, tristin,” the brunette greeted him, rubbing his arm comfortingly. it seemed almost wrong and unhealthy that after all these years, the woman's simple touch could feel like an electric current. the exact same feeling tristin had felt each time their lips had touched, it was inevitable for him not to feel anything, even after all this pain and heartbreak. "ophelia," tristin said simply, giving the girl a familiarly friendly crooked smile. both looked down at the little girl who had been clinging to tristin's right leg from the moment they'd come to a halt in from the her mother. the bronze haired twenty-two year old looked up slowly, fixing his gaze on his blonde haired sister who had that look of awe on her face which had been displayed almost every morning at the breakfast table in dublin. the look of awe which was usually followed by a "you guys are so cute!". ophelia suddenly looked up, interrupting the silent starting match going on between the two pearson siblings, a faint blush colouring her cheeks. “oh… crap. sorry, guys, i hadn’t realized that i haven’t recovered from bath time just yet.” the brunette said with a slight but careless shrug, both tristin and sophie giving her faint understanding smiles. it was an almost impossible match between both tristin and sophie, as well as the blonde's rather fat cat chester, whenever it came time to wash the darn cat. by the end of two hours, the pair were sitting on the floor, covered in soapy water and lazily watching the cat prance off proudly. honestly, tristin hadn't even noticed the state of ophelia's clothes, her face was the thing which kept him intrigued, fascinated with the beautiful woman. her wide eyes, that familiar yet changed smile. by god, tristin had seen that girl smile enough to know that he'd changed something in her. broken her down, both of them holding almost sinister smiles and trying to ignore the large gaping holes in their hearts.
the fact that ophelia's clothes were basically soaking left barely anything to the imagination for tristin. her dull green shirt was clinging to her thin body in all the right places, taking tristin back to those many nights in both new york city and dublin. "sophie can we go now?" eddie asked the youngest pearson, tugging on the hem of sophie's dress impatiently, also interrupting tristin's gaze and focusing it elsewhere. "i think that's a great idea," the tall blonde said leaning down so she was at the same height as her niece, "i'm also thinking that we can play on daddy's piano and my guitar," at that tristin groaned jokingly, thankful that he wasn't going to be anywhere near the pearson residence that night. the first time eddie ever laid eyes on the sleek, black grand piano, it was like christmas had come early. an apology to their neighbours might be necessary after tonight, though if sophie kept to what tristin had told her, eddie would be dozing off in front of the television by nine. he would feel incredibly guilty if the bronze haired child came back jumping around and full of sugar. "we'll see you guys later," sophie told the pair with a smile before being dragged out the door by eddie. once the sound of tristin's jeep could be heard driving slowly down the road, anxiousness hit him. not because his daughter was with sophie, he trusted his sister enough not to get killed or get into other various situations, however jasper bennett had told him some interesting stories regarding sophie's innocence whilst hanging out with her late best friend sienna. regardless, tristin wasn't worried about sophie. it occurred to him that he'd be spending most of tonight with ophelia. ophelia harmon, the woman he had once loved with all his heart and was certainly sure that he still was irrevocably in love with her. they hadn't spent this much time together all at once since dublin, four years ago, when they were happily and blissfully in love. “come on in, tristin. i’ve got tons of presents to wrap for tomorrow.” ophelia told him comfortingly and tristin followed her inside nonchalantly.
this somewhat task reminded tristin of their junior year back in new york city. sprawled on the floor of tristin's bedroom whilst surrounded by junk food and honestly having a better time than they'd both imagined. however the conversation had run a lot more freely all those years ago, mainly because they hadn't really known each other and there were no barriers between the two. hell, ophelia hadn't even known tristin had a sister until he pulled up in front of the large hospital one afternoon. they hadn't known anything about each other, apart from what they'd heard from other people. now however, they knew everything about each other apart from the past four years. each had a basic idea. tristin knew about ophelia's art gallery in new mexico and she knew about mr. and mrs. pearson. it was almost an unspoken rule that they didn't talk about immediately after the break up, though tristin wished more than anything to know what had happened. although it would probably reveal many painful thing ophelia had gone through without him, because of him, he wanted to know. anything that would tell him what a cowardly bastard he'd been was enough for tristin. god even if grayson harmon himself ranted to him for an entire day would be precise. it would have been hard, that's a given and tristin wouldn't blame ophelia for any hatred she had towards him. within the next few hours, a decent sized present pile for a three turning four year old, was sitting in front of the pair. tristin was just carefully taping up the wrapping paper on the last present as ophelia stood up and stretched, looking at the clock. his blue eyes gazed in that direction also, surprised at how time had flown. “hmm… eight o’ clock. i say we give soph and eddie a little extra time to bond? go ahead and pop a movie in, i’ll go change,” ophelia put forward and tristin nodded in agreement, knowing that sophie wouldn't be overly happy if they took eddie away from her so soon. it seemed that anything which would keep her mind off things she didn't exactly want to think about and the accusations in which surrounded her, were good enough for sophie. it annoyed tristin how the blonde would put a bright smile on her face and pretend like everything was alright. he'd probably go insane if that was the way he handled situations.
after putting the perfecting finishing touches on the last present, tristin pulled himself up from the floor and walked over to the dvd cabinet. his eyes gazed over the various movies, more or less noticing the ones he and ophelia had seen together. there were no movies that they'd been dragged by a certain blonde barbie doll in the cabinet, due to the fact they were far too rude and besides, tristin barely remembered them because he'd spent most of the film staring into ophelia's eyes and ignoring the punches he'd gotten from adélaide. of course the romantic films were present, the ones tristin and ophelia would watch while curled up on tristin's bed, legs entwined and sharing sweet kisses every few moments. knowing that making a serious choice would take him almost an entire lifetime, tristin closed his eyes and pulled out the first movie his fingers touched. titanic, someone surely had it in for him up there. oh he remembered well enough that was their favourite movie to watch whenever they were together. whenever they'd rented it out at the video store, long before they'd actually just decided to buy a copy, the sophomore high school students working at the store would roll their eyes, thoughts about the choice clear in their expressions. shoving any doubts about the movie from his mind, tristin placed the disk in the dvd player and sat down on the comfortable couch which sat in front of the television. his eyes widened slightly as ophelia walked back into the living room and sat down on the couch next to him. there was no mistaking that ensemble she was wearing. the familiar white tank top and plaid pyjama pants in which hung low at her hips. “much better. i think my legs were about to peel off with those wet jeans.” ophelia said casually, laughing freely, just like so many years ago. the poor boy couldn't help but nod with a small smile on his lips. what else was he meant to do when a girl he wasn't meant to still love was sitting next to him wearing an outfit which had been the cause of tristin loosing his virginity to her some four years ago. luckily tristin had always been good at lying, faking his feelings. whether or not he wanted to hide certain feels would impact on how believable he was. the fact ophelia seemed so incredibly relaxed with him by her side made tristin want to appear as nonchalant and calm as possible. “so what’d we decide on?” ophelia half asked tristin, not bothering or really wanting a reply as she just picked up the dvd case. “titanic… classic.”
at some point in the movie, the pair had grown closer to each other. when it had started playing, the two were relaxed yet on opposite sides of the couch. now ophelia was leaning against tristin's arm, his muscular arm rests around her comfortably. they'd made comments briefly throughout the movie, awkward silences hadn't ensured what so ever. however both had gone silent right around the time the ship had sunk, then they'd both gone completely silent, just staring at the screen. just a few seconds after rose had realized jack was dead, tristin heard a sniffle come from ophelia. he looked down calmly so see tears running down her pale cheeks and couldn't help but chuckle the slightest bit. ophelia looked up at him questioningly. "you always cry in this part," tristin told her with a light laugh. he shifted slightly so the pair were looking at each other, eyes were locked like so many times before. out of habit, tristin put his finger gently to the side of ophelia's face, caressing her jaw before wiping a few stray tears away with his finger. her porcelain clear skin was warm, fragile. the way tristin's fingers touched ophelia's face was so familiar and like before, almost as though any pressure would result in her crumbling to pieces. what was going on in the movie was far from his attention at the moment, any care in the world about what was happening to the characters had disappeared. all he cared about was ophelia and ophelia alone. without thinking twice or weighing the odds, tristin cupped ophelia's face gently in his hands and leaned in, gently pressing his lips against hers. just from that simple touching of lips, the hole in tristin's heart seemed to disappear. it felt as though everything was back to normal; no heartbreak or pain. everything existing in the world other than he and ophelia seemed to disappear as their lips touched, for those few moments he felt like that careless and naive teenager he once was. slowly after a few moments or minutes, tristin pulled away from ophelia, opening his eyes to stare into hers.
